It was a long day at work today with many tables to wait on and bellies to feed. Once again I stayed up late with Andy last night so by the time my shift was over I was ready to crawl into bed at four in the afternoon….that’s almost what I did. I mentioned in my previous post that I wanted to buy some more meat to have in the house before my 14 day money-fast. Andy wanted those purchases to land in our March budget. So due to circumstances “ok’d” by my hubby I have had to push the 14 day challenge back one day. So after taking me out dinner (yea…we figured we might as well go all out if we were going to delay)…I crawled into bed for a nap while Andy went to the store for any essentials that we knew would be necessary.
It was heaven to close my eyes in my warm bed knowing that my other half was out there doing what needed to be done for the day. Andy went out and bought some meat, dog food and stocked up on the chew sticks that keep them busy. I slept. (Insert here another dash on the side of the board marked “babies – cons”).
So after my siesta I came downstairs to watch him tape his hockey stick and I put batteries in a game I bought garage sailing this past summer called “uno attack”. I want to be fully equipped with “zero money spending” ways to have a blast the next two weeks.
Without further delay, tomorrow the challenge starts. Games at home are ready, groceries are bought and waiting to be cooked into meals I haven’t even attempted to try yet and a gas gift card is set aside to fill my tank tomorrow to get me in the spirit! (I’ll still have to fill up at least one time I’m sure but I wanted to be as loyal as I could). So tomorrow, March 2nd I begin and March 16th is when I can celebrate. The weekends will be the trouble spot…I’ll have to be diligent with the crock-pot knowing I will have no energy…but I’m ready and excited about kick-starting our savings. If this goes well I plan on doing this every three to four months….here we go!
